Secretary General Duties

The Secretariat General is headed by a highest category ( senior-level ) employee with whom all directorates of The House are directly related in which the Secretary General is undertaking the following tasks:

  • Carrying out and performing tasks that are assigned to him by the civil service system and the rules of  procedures ( By-laws) of The House of Representatives in addition to the financial system, general procurement system and any related system.
  • Direct supervision of the works and actions of the House directorates and following up and coordination between these actions in addition to supervision of Secretariat General Staff , guiding their efforts  and drawing action plans aiming at increasing the efficiency.
  • Supervision and reviewing all correspondences that issued by the House after its completion by the competent authorities at the House and ensuring its speeding up performance.
  • Attending The House of Representatives sessions, reading the agendas, supervision the editing of the sessions minutes and carrying out all of what the Speaker Of The House requests during the sessions.
  • Preparing the agendas items of the house sessions, its committees, and its standing bureau and ensuring its distribution in due course.
  • Supervision of the cooperation programs between The House and the international organization, national institution, and other parliaments in addition to develop these programs and following up their actions.
  • Participation in the conferences and seminars that the standing bureau decides to take part in and attend , in addition to present reports to the Speaker of The House  about the activities that addressed in these conferences or seminars.
  • Representing the Secretariat General of the House in the Secretaries General Associations of the international and regional parliaments.
