The Executive Bureau

The Executive Bureau shall undertakes the following functions and authorities:

  • Prepare the annual budget of the House.
  • Monitor the financial expenditure of the House.
  • Study the incoming proposals for the organization of the House work and submit recommendations in their regards.
  • coordinate the work of the standing committees and the committees the House forms and follow-up their work.
  • Receive complaints and petitions submitted by citizens as regard their affairs, and take the appropriate action in their connection inclusive of their referral to the competent committee.
  • Supervise and follow-up memos and questions made by the House Members.
  • Compose the standing committees , brotherhood committees, and parliamentary friendship associations on the basis of proportional representation of the blocs.
  • Discuss urgent and new matters.

Mechanism of Composing The Executive Bureau:

  • The Executive Bureau shall be composed of the members of the standing bureau, the chairpersons of the parliamentary blocs or who represents them.
  • The Executive Bureau shall elect-from among its members- a rapporteur therefor in the first meeting it holds.
  • The Executive Bureau shall meet once every month and whenever the need so requires and at a call from The Speaker and in the presence of the majority of its members.
  • In the case of the absence of the Speaker from the attendance of the meetings of the Executive Bureau for any reason, the two Deputy Speakers-in sequence-shall undertake the authorities of the speaker in heading the meeting. Combination between the ministerial post and the Membership of The Executive Bureau may not take place. Moreover, the function of the Executive Bureau shall extend up to the day of opening of the next ordinary session. Furthermore, in case of the vacancy of a seat of a member of the Executive Bureau from the parliamentary bloc, the blocs shall select who represents it from among its members to replace him to occupy the vacant seat.
